J.R. Brinkley was known as the “goat gland surgeon”
Back in the 20 and 30’s he performed thousands of surgeries attaching goat testicles to the same of a man looking for “virility”
Basically it was the former version of the little blue pill.
Did it work?
Well that depends on who you ask.
He was known to some as the greatest con man and charlatan of his time.
Others thought he was a miracle worker, giving men confidence and women babies.
For every successful operation there was a tragic one.
Nobody knows for sure what his percentage of success and happy customers was, but there is no doubt he was loved and hated.
In the end he was taken down by his nemesis Morris Fishbein, head of the AMA (american medical association) and self described quack buster.
One thing that JR Brinkley said really stuck with me.
He said, “A life unopposed is not worth living.”
I figure I must be doing something right then because for every 30 happy students, I have one person very upset about something.
And usually they are very vocal (via email) because in this digital world they can be an “internet tough guy” without the risk of getting popped in the jaw.
In the beginning of PianoFool it was hard to take.
I didn’t have very thick skin.
But something kept me fighting through it.
And it was one simple fact.
