Good question from Pauline about chord charts:

Hi Tim-Thanks for your concern.
I have been practicing regularly, about two 15 min sessions on most days. I’ve got the chords down.I am self taught over the past year and was comfortable with the progress. Anyhow, I now have to unlearn using my right hand for melody and now use for chords. It takes me a little longer as I am an older learner, but I have proven that I can do both hands at the same time ( never thought it was a possibility.)I will be sticking with you, but I had one question. Where will I find music to play (in your format) after getting this under my belt.? Thanks for your encouraging words, I’ll be giving your program the best shot that I have, trust me on this, because if I have to succeed, you are my last shot at this.-Pauline”

Well…

There are a couple of ways to get your hands on chord charts. You can go buy a chord book from a music store.

But…

I don’t recommend buying anything.

There are certain things in life that are just better free.

And chord charts are one of those. Piano lessons are not. 😉

So here is what I do.

I go to google, or yahoo, or whatever search engine you like to use and I type in this:
chords, lyrics, (name of song), (name of artist, if I know it)

Then I press enter and…

Wallllaaaa!

A bunch of sites show up with all the chord charts in the world I could possibly want for that song.

A couple things to think about first.

1) Not all chord charts are 100% accurate so there may be some fine tuning but the majority of them are pretty right on and will let you get to playing that song quick.

and

2) If you wanna play a song nobody in the world likes or has ever heard of before then there is a possibility that it won’t be available.

This happens very rarely.

So now you don’t have any more excuses for not getting the chord chart to the song you want to play.
