I can read music, and play from sheet music. But here was my PROBLEM!
It has the melody line, it made no sense to me to play the melody

The common challenge for most people who have had years of piano lessons is this…
…they find it very hard to believe they could actually play spontaneously, effortlessly, and without reading sheet music. It’s a huge mental leap after years of programming only one way into their heads.
You are trained to read linearly and not to see patterns. Once you learn to SEE the piano differently it’s game over. Patterns start to jump out at you and the songs that once seemed challenging, are now surprisingly easy.
Just like Lee, if you have ANY piano background, and you sing, then the Layer Method will get you playing in days…literally days.
And if you don’t sing and don’t have any piano background then its still a no brainer. And sometimes even better because you won’t need to be retrained to think differently.
Word of warning for both types of people though.
If you want to play complex melodies then the Layer Method is not for you. You will want to continue traditional lessons or start them and commit to years of learning.
Now…if what you want to do is play songs with both hands, sing along, add some simple melodies that don’t require years of lessons, then the Layer Method will be your cup of tea for sure.
