Sometimes friends need to go.
Well, let me put it this way.
Friends, who stink at being friends, need to go. Divorce them.
As I get older, I realize, time gets more and more valuable.
And it cannot be wasted on things that drain you of mental, emotional, or physical energy and yield no reward at the same time.
Friends can do that.
Bad ones.
And then it’s time to kick them to the curb.
And that’s okay.
Free’s up more time and room to get a good friend in there that lifts you up, adds value to your life, listens well, and does what they are going to say.
Relationships are important.
Meaningful relationships with depth are important.
It’s a two way street and if you find yourself always doing the driving, well, then…. I give you permission to kick them to the curb.
I give you permission to kick your piano teacher to the curb as well.
Sometimes we get stuck in a piano teacher student relationship that goes nowhere.
Nothing really happens of value and then you are left feeling like you are always starting over, again, and again.
It’s one book after another thrown at you to finish level 1, level 2, then on to level 3 etc…
More sheet music, scales, blah blah blah…
And then after a few years you give up, thinking “you just aren’t talented enough to learn the piano”. I get it, I felt the exact same way. And so did most all my successful Layer Method students.
Here’s what you can expect from me as your new piano teacher.
1. I listen, respond, and care.
2. I do number 1 because my Layer Method of Piano works and I actually know you will be successful if you continue to do it.
3. I am in it for the long haul, I am blessed with knowledge that helps people, adds value to their lives, and God willing I am gonna do it till I slide into the grave.
4. I provide you with detailed framework, step by step instruction on how to reach your piano goals. No mumbo jumbo, no confusion, and no overwhelming you with things that don’t matter.
5. I show up. I do what I say I am going to do, and that will not change.
Now.
