One year ago at 1:02 am today, my life changed forever.
That is when I heard for the first time the cry of my newborn son. It was awesome. And scary. I never realized how violent, bloody, and aggressive our entry into this world is. I even pulled a muscle during his birth. That was due to the fact I was pushing almost as much as my wife.
Anyway…
… The doctors and nurses were awesome. They told us exactly what to do, when to do it, and how to do it.
The funny thing was is that we took all the classes beforehand that gave us all the theory about childbirth. But of course we didn’t remember any of that stuff. It wasn’t until we got into the actual birthing did we start to listen to what those who had been there before us.
Theory was thrown out the window. The books didn’t matter.
It reminded me of the Layer Method of Piano program.
It’s no nonsense, do this, do that, and you will be successful.
We focus on whats important. Not theory you may never use. At least to begin with.
We want you to be a piano player first. Then we can worry about being a great one later. Kind of like a parent. 😉
For the rest of the day I will be preparing for Hayes first birthday party tonight.
You could be on your way to playing the piano, with both hands, with songs you love.
