Most people who are trying to learn something don’t really know whats best for them.
For instance.
I get a few people always asking me to teach them more specific songs. They are so focus on playing a song they forget the whole point of playing the piano. And that is to play LOTS of songs, as many as you want and all the ones you love.
But as the an old Chinese proverbs says. (paraphrasing here)
“give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, teach him to fish and he will eat for life”
