Let me ask you a really strange question?

Would you rather be a Goose or a human?

I actually just laughed out loud to myself after writing that but stay with me.

So I am assuming most of us said Human.

Why? (think about this before you read on)

We must think humans have it better than Geese huh?

I actually am going to challenge that.

Here’s why.

Most humans suffer from the following (at least at some point) that geese do not (based on my goose expert consultant):

Insecurities
Stress
Depression
Lack of fulfillment
Disappointment

…and the list goes on and on.

And I believe these are caused (to some extent) from the basic human desire to figure out “why you are here” and what it is you are supposed to do.

Ultimately…

… How to live a fulfilled life that is growing, expanding, fulfilling, loving, and purposeful.

Now…Let’s look at the Goose.

From birth they know exactly what they are.

They fit in immediately.

They know exactly what to do .

And exactly how to do it.

And they get better at it every year.

They have no fear of being a goose because it is their nature.

Sure they get shot at during Goose season, (but so do we sometimes!)

Sure they have to deal with weather etc. but they are built for it.

They have to fly thousands of miles, but again…

.. they are designed that way.

And guess what?

You are designed to continue to grow.

Not melt away on a couch.

You are designed to continue to learn.

Not be bored.

So for humans…

… I think a normal life is not that much different than for the goose.

We are supposed to continue to get better at being human.

Not worse.

And one thing you can do to get better is to continue learning.
