So yesterday I sent an email about the “Lazy way to play piano”
Lot’s of new gadgets out there claiming to be something worth trying.
None of them ideal. And it’s true about taking a horse to water but you can’t make them drink you know.
Sid (current Layer Method Student) felt the need to chime in.
Email below:
“Lets not lose the sight that the Layered Method is an easier way, but it still leaves you with the proud feeling that music is coming from your fingers on a piano at any time and to whatever you want to play for. In my case it is mostly for myself, or family and friends.
I tried the learning to read music and just never got the hang of it but the Layer Method allows me to hear music of songs I like to listen to. The more I practice the better the music sounds and the less I practice it still sounds ok, maybe not perfect.
If I wanted the lazy way I would tape piano music to my keyboard and then sit behind it and bob my head and tickle the ivories. I would not get any satisfaction nor the feeling that I am creating something. Don’t be a Lazy Fool, be a Pianofool player and just enjoy the feeling of accomplishment and the music that you play any time, any where. Happy Holidays.” Sid Chase
Sometimes the student says it better than the teacher.
Lets see…
…today is Wednesday.
4 days before Christmas.
Then the New Year is gonna be here.
Whats something about you that you are going to change in the New Year to make your life more fulfilling?
Don’t have an idea yet?
How bout music?
In fact, playing piano could be just the ticket.
Lots of benefits.
Helps with memory, motor skills, connects neurons in beneficial ways, makes you more interesting when you talk to family and friends… and on and on.
The Layer Method may just be that path for ya.

If you start today, there is a high probability you will be playing something with both hands before the New Year. Absolutely possible.
