Imagine walking into a room full of people, sitting down at the piano and having everybody sing to what you are playing…
…even if you don’t sing.
Sound good?
Well, you can.
And John had a great question to help with this:
“…In addition to that, I’d like to start building up a repertoire of more well known songs that I could play at parties or amongst groups of friends when asked. Since there an endless number of songs one could learn with this method, I was wondering if you could share the names of some of the songs that you get asked to play most often, either at dueling piano shows or elsewhere?- John”
We all get stuck on what we like to play.
I can literally bore anybody to death with the sad texas country ballads that I love.
But when it comes to getting a room going quickly, there are 5 go to songs that will do the trick.
Here they are:
1) Sweet Caroline -Very easy to play
2) Folsom Prison- Very easy to play
3) Brown Eyed Girl- Easy to play
4) Happy Birthday- Ridiculously easy to play
5) Jack and Diane- Very easy to play
Now there others, but these are my top 5.
All of these you can play with the skills you learn in the Layer Method of Piano.
In fact, those are the only skills I really have. So I know it to be fact!
One more tip.
You want to make some cash but aren’t a “professional”?
Learn the fight songs to the two competing teams in your state.
People go crazy this and drop ridiculous amounts of money to have you stop one and play another.
Just keep going back and forth.
I have seen the money pot get to thousands in just a few minutes.
Back to whats important.
You can be a rockstar at the next little get together, if you want.
Or you can simple play for your own pleasure in the comfort of your home.
Either way, you will love it, when you start using the Layer Method of Piano.
That’s when the piano finally makes sense.
