I have figured out the source of all problems in the world.
And as I got to thinking about it more and more, I realized if we could solve this one single problem, it would essentially solve every other problem in the world.
That may be a BOLD claim, but I have no doubt that I am 100% correct.
What to do about it is the real question.
How do we solve this one thing?
I have not figured that out yet, but will continue to work on it.
What do you think it is?
The other day I was talking to a gentleman who had recently retired. I asked him how he was doing and what he thought about retirement so far.
His answer was less than inspiring. The truth is, he spends more time in the doctors office trying to figure out what is causing this or that pain. We talked a little bit longer and eventually he said:
“I am really thinking about going back to work, not sure retirement fits me”
I hear that more and more these days.
And the common theme (which is the same source of all the problems in the world) always pops up.
Boredom.
Yep, boredom, the root of all evil.
And I was reminded by a wise friend to not confuse “stimulation” with not being bored. TV can be stimulating, but terribly boring at the same time.
We are a nation of bored people.
And I for one think it is time to SNAP OUT OF IT!
Baby steps though for sure.
Like maybe exhausting both sides of your brain by learning a new skill like piano?
Better than another screen.
Better than another movie.
Better than another surfing of Facebook to try and watch the faux “exciting” lives of other people.
If you are bored.
Here’s step one.
Learn something new.
Piano could be that thing.
And I can show you right here how to learn to play with both hands:
