Every Tuesday I meet with a group of guys and we try to figure out how to be better men. I call it man class.
And last week we were talking about definitions.
The question was this.
What is the definition of a SON?
Hmmmm….
I loved this question.
It’s easy to define a father. One who has a son. But for those of us who didn’t necessarily have a “Father” in the picture, defining what a son was, was hard.
So we all got our pencils out and starting hashing it out.
This is what I came up with.
“A son is one who is accepted by and sought after to be in a deeper relationship with… by a consistent and available Father.”
Not too shabby eh?
Since having the little PianoFooler (Hayes) making sure he feels like a son is the most important thing. And having that definition helps give me focus on how to achieve that.
And if you want to play piano then definitions are crucial to have for your success.
For instance, If I were to ask you to define a “Piano Player” what would you say?
I thought about this a lot and this is the definition I came up with.
“One who has the ability to sit down at the piano and enjoy themselves”
Simple.
True.
Doesn’t take years to do this.
And is really what’s important.
So let go of any definitions that are holding you back from going for it and enjoying the piano.
You will call yourself a piano player.
All you need is the right framework to get there.
And you can get that here:
