Great question from Mary this morning:
“Started to practice lesson #1 last night and I do have a question. Is there an easy way to remember chords or will it just become automatic the more I practice?”
I get this question a lot as well.
And the answer is:
It will be so automatic you won’t think about it at all. Your hands will just go there.
I see some programs out there who have stickers to put on your computer, lighted keys, and all kinds of fancy doodads to make you think it is easy to learn where the keys are at.
It’s all to give you the illusion they are providing more value or something.
Filler.
Nothing more than filler.
If you simply do my program step by step, you will laugh at the thought of labeling your keys. And your keyboard lighting up will annoy the crap out of you.
Because you will be playing.
Not thinking.
Playing.
So enough with the labels, lit up keys, triangle shaped diagrams.
Let me simply show you how to do something. You practice it. And then play the piano with both hands like you never actually thought possible.
You see… All my students come in with a dream of playing.
Most of them have been dreaming about it their whole life.
And when they see what I show them, they basically get mad that they’ve wasted so many years trying to learn the hard way.
It’s like you have been told to drink out of a water faucet using just your hands.
And then somebody comes along and gives you a cup.
Same water, same faucet, HUGE difference.
Here’s your cup to learning piano.
