Feel like you are getting older to quickly? I hear ya…
…in fact, my feet are becoming very distant to me.
I don’t know exactly how this has happened, but it has.
I must be getting older.
Quickly.
Let me explain.
A while back I noticed I was making decisions based on “comfort” of all things.
You know…
…sneakers, sweatshirts, carrying my own chair to sit in the bleachers to watch my nephew etc…
But now, I am changing patterns that are disturbing to me.
One in particular has me ruffled.
I have always put on my pants first, then socks.
Always…
… and now, with pants on, its seems like my feet are a mile away and I can’t seem to get my legs to bend correctly getting them close enough to put my socks on comfortably.
ridiculous right?
well whatever… so now I am socks on, then pants.
Total life pattern change! but I am MUCH happier!
Sometimes I think we just have to accept there’s a better way to do something. At least accept a different way.
Kinda like playing piano.
Sheet music was the ONLY way for years. We were forced to learn to read it and then you basically relied on it to play anything.
But now, with wisdom, and age, we are finding there are better ways. Just like putting pants on last.
Different ways that will make you much happier.
The Layer Method of Piano is kinda of like putting pants on last.
Totally reverses the whole concept of learning the piano.
We do things first, then understand them later. Sometimes we don’t understand them at all but as long as we are playing who cares?
For instance.
You could learn a whole song, sing it, play it, have people astonished about your ability and maybe have no idea what key it is in. Does that matter? Not really.
What matters is your happiness. Whatever that means to you.
If piano has seemed like a real challenge (just like putting my socks on has become) then I want to share with you a better way.
It’s called the Layer Method of Piano.
