There’s a really interesting book I finished reading called “The Paradox of Choice.”
It’s an amazing look on how, as a society, we have become more miserable as the amount of choices we have increase.
Perfect example:
The author was talking about how he went to buy a new pair of jeans.
He was greeted by a very nice young fellow who asked him what he was looking for.
He said, “I need a new pair of jeans.”
The store clerk then asked him if he wanted:
-stone washed
-slim fit
-loose fit
-relaxed fit
-acid wash
-boot leg
-straight leg
-low rise
-button fly
-zipper
-skinny fit
whoa…
So he decided on a loose fit, stone washed, button fly, boot legged pair of jeans.
He said he has never had a better fitting, more comfortable pair of jeans in his life. EVER.
But guess what.
As he was waking out of the store.
In the most comfortable pair of jeans he had ever bought.
He had an overwhelming sense that maybe, just maybe he had made the wrong choice.
He kept second guessing himself with all the choices available to him.
I believe we were happier when we all had 3 choices of jeans and were all in the same miserable pair of jeans. The ugly, dark blue, stiff as a board pair of jeans.
Because then we could blame the manufacturers for only giving us 3 choices. Now we blame ourself for making the wrong one.
It made me think of emails I get sometimes with people asking why I only have 35 videos (or whatever) vs. competitor A who has 620 videos or something like that in their programs.
Here’s the deal.
I don’t try and give people what they want. Because most of the time they are wrong. At least when it comes to piano.
If I could teach you everything I know in one video, I would.
You see, sometimes, what you think you want is a massive amount of information. But that is not what you need.
What you need is a step by step, no BS, crystal clear format to learn how to play the piano faster than you ever thought possible, with both hands, playing songs you love. In other words, easy piano lessons.
620 videos that confuse, bore, and eventually frustrate you to the point of quitting may be what you want.
But what you need is something totally different.
And you can get it here:
