“Tim I am compelled to send you this e-mail. I am soooo happy I decided tho get your program. My formal music background was with the TRUMPET for many, many years so I had a basic understanding of the keyboard. I tried to make some sense of various songs and what chords (which I knew a few) were used. Yes I could play some songs enough to entertain myself and family (not to bad for a trumpet player)but I wanted to get better and more confident in the piano.
YOUR PROGRAM DID IT! I finally completely understand what I am doing and doing it with BOTH hands and NOT JUST CHORDS. I completed Module 1 and now I think I am ready to move to Module 2. I FINALLY have a TEACHER who has respect for the TRADITIONAL method of teaching but embraces the NON TRADITIONAL techniques that I have been looking for. So thank you for giving me the confidence that I will be playing the piano VERY soon and loving every moment of it.
PS: you may use this message for publication to your web site or use it to show how your technique is TRUELY everything as stated . Thanks again Bob Mitchell”
Great email.
Not sure I have ever been accused of respecting the traditional way of teaching piano, but sounds good to me!
And Bob’s right.
I do respect and embrace both. But after a certain point in your life (like when you start paying taxes) for some I guess this never happens, but I digress…
…the traditional way just won’t work.
For the majority.
It’s fact.
Plain and simple.
So you are left with a choice.
Traditional lessons (which deep down you know will be a waste of your time) not because they don’t work, but because you are past the point of learning that way.
or
Non Traditional lessons. Like, for instance, oh I don’t know…
THE LAYER METHOD OF PIANO!
I will be hanging out with my son today.
You should be practicing piano.
