Thought provoking quote from the lead singer of the famous band The Who.
Roger Daltreys words:
“Modern technology has taken the joy out of life, and we got more done before the invention of smartphones.
We’re just busy doing nothing now, we’ve got no time to contemplate, no time to dream.”
I know there’s some irony that I share this quote with you by typing it into a computer.
Trust me, I see it.
BUT…
What really stood out to me in that quote was the last line.
“We’ve got no time to contemplate, no time to dream.”
Ah…
So, so true.
And when we don’t have time to contemplate or dream we don’t usually have the time to accomplish the dream.
But I bet if we decided for 30 days not to get on Flakebook, we would have the time.
Or maybe it’s talk radio.
I used to be addicted to it.
Hours of it daily, just running around in the background.
Filling up space that could have been used more productively.
Or maybe for you it’s gossip?
How much extra time would you have if you didn’t waste another breath for 30 days talking about what others are doing?
We all have our deals.
And since the summer is half gone…
…chances are there resolutions made last year that are lingering just waiting to be accomplished.
Most will not be.
It’s the truth.
Fact.
Take a look at your list and see if you have any resolutions similar to years past?
Chances are you do.
That’s why I don’t make resolutions anymore.
But I do know a group of people who did something last year that changed their life.
They decided they wanted to be a piano player and today they are. Thousands of them.
And that could be you.
If you want it.
You don’t need to right it down, call it a resolution, and stare at it for a month.
