There’s a really simple way to tell if you are truly musically gifted or not.
And the fact you are reading this, wondering whether or not you are, means you probably aren’t.
You most likely struggle and have been beat down by the world with a bunch of crap lies about “musical giftedness.”
I need to get something off my chest on this early Friday morning.
There is a myth that you have to be “gifted” from birth in order to every really play the piano.
B.S.
Excuse my french, but that is complete Hogwash.
Let me explain.
Was Beethoven gifted?
Yes.
Mozart?
Yes.
Billy Joel, Elton John?
Probably.
I am going to be real honest with you, so don’t take it the wrong way. Here goes.
Theres a 99% chance you won’t ever play the piano like Beethoven if you are looking for piano lessons at this point in your life.
The good news is this:
You don’t have to be gifted at all to enjoy playing the piano.
For instance.
I would give just about anything to be a professional golfer.
I love it!
But the fact is, I’m not a naturally “great athlete” by any means.
Not gifted.
So I guess I should just never play golf right?
Heck no. I play all the time and flipping love it!
Sometimes I hit great shots, sometimes I hit terrible shots, but I certainly don’t let someone who is “gifted” make me feel like I shouldn’t get on the course and keep swinging.
Because it brings me joy.
So quit worrying whether or not you are musically gifted enough to play the piano.
You are. I guarantee it.
Piano was a real struggle for me as well. I get it.
But I promise you can play it.
AND enjoy what happens when your fingers hit the keys.
Real music, rich sound, no sheet music, and pure freedom to LOVE playing the piano.
Don’t let summer pass you by without checking “learn to play piano” off your bucket list.
Last summer went quick.
This summer will go quicker.
But you would already be calling yourself a piano player if you had gone here last summer and signed up for the Layer Method piano program:
