Got an email from Rita (current PianoFool student)
“Dear Tim, I ordered your course not really expecting a miracle but it did happen. I bought many courses over the years with all kind of promises but you are the REAL DEAL !!! I am playing almost any song I want with two hands. I am interested in additional advanced courses. I would like one on fills and runs. I really love your emails everyday. Sincerely, Rita”
Not really a miracle.
Just someone who followed my program step by step.
Listened to instructions and followed through. Being able to play almost any song you want is simply a consequence of those actions.
Unlike what I did earlier this week.
When I didn’t listen to instructions from my wife. And the real miracle in that deal is that we are still married.
Here’s what happened.
Wifey: Hey babe can you take these two items to the dry cleaners sometime today.
Me: Yep, no problem
Seems simple right?
Pretty clear directions, nothing really to interpret. All I needed to do was pick up the two pieces of clothing, drive to the dry cleaners and drop them off. No harm no foul.
So later that day I did just that.
Picked up the clothes (my wife’s favorite dress and blazer) on my way out the door, got in the car, put it in drive, drove straight to GOODWILL and donated them to some random guy at the back loading dock.
not good…
The worst part is I didn’t even realize what I had done till the next day. It was too late. I went back but they had shipped all the clothes dropped off to other stores across the state.
I still don’t really have an explanation to why this happened except for the simple fact I may have listened, but I didn’t really hear what she said.
So after I knew it was over, her two favorites items of clothing were gone I prepared for the apology. I have a rule.
Apologize swiftly and sincerely.
So I did.
And we are still married… Although my freedom budget just got cut by a couple hundred dollars! And she’s going shopping 😉
Anyhoo…
