Most “heroes'” are anything but…
…let me explain.
The Emperor wears no clothes is an old Danish story about an Emperor walking around Naked, but nobody would point out the obvious because they were afraid they might be chastized
But I am not afraid when it comes to the topic of “Heroes”
You see…There’s a trend in our culture of throwing around the “hero” title to anybody, whether they are deserving or not.
It’s so watered down at this point it’s almost meaningless.
It’s a HUGE pet peeve of mine.
Example:
My wife was at a conference and few weeks back.
There were motivational speakers from all over the world
Some have great things to say, others have nothing good to say, and then there are the ones who are now motivational speakers because of some “heroic” thing they did.
One in particular really grinds my gears.
Here’s the background.
Guy goes hiking alone (dumb mistake1), doesn’t tell anybody where he is going to be (dumb mistake 2), gets arm stuck literally between a hard and a hard place (dumb mistake 3), cuts arm off after being stuck for hours. (now he’s a hero).
hmmmm…
So I can make a bunch of really dumb decisions, become a motivational speaker and have people listen to me because some call me a hero.
great…
… I think not.
There’s nothing heroic about that.
Cutting your arm off is really the only option.
That’s like calling someone a hero who stands in front of a freight train, thens jumps out of the way at the last second to SAVE HIMSELF.
“Real heroes” have lots of options.
And then they choose the hard one that benefits someone else, period.
Captain Sully wasn’t a Hero either. (GASP!! I know, let the hate mail begin)
What he was… Was an unbelievable pilot, who did his job very well when trouble presented itself.
But that was his job.
What else was he supposed to do?
You can identify a false hero by asking one simple question.
What were their other options?
Now that you know how to identify a false hero, let’s talk about piano.
Most piano programs say they are different, but are anything but.
They are simply traditional teaching packaged up online and sold as something special.
18 years of lessons put into 5000 videos, 1600 printouts, etc.
Nightmare.
… totally overwhelming, no organization, and pointless.
That’s why the Layer Method of Piano works.
It’s simple, step by step, and clearly defined on how to succeed.
All you have to do is trust me. And you will be playing the piano by ear with both hands in weeks.
Maybe you’ll even call me a Hero?
…which of course I am not.
That’s a title that should be saved for a select few.
But the title piano player is something you can wear as a badge of honor after you learn how here:
