Lot’s of things have changed since I got married.
1. I am not as smart as I used to be
2. As interesting as I thought I was
3. As good looking as I always imagined
4. And the mirrors in our married couples house aren’t quite as slimming as the ones in the old bachelor pad were.
And another thing that’s changed is I am all out of secrets.
Except one…
…and the other day, my one and only secret (I keep from wifey) got out.
It was Saturday and we decided to go pawn shoppin. Wifey had never done this before so I thought we would experience the rough side of town together, sifting through stolen goods to hopefully find a treasure.
I was driving and asked her to text my old buddy Troy something.
I handed her my phone and she went to it.
Then I heard a Gasp, looked over, and saw wifey’s jaw drop.
My heart literally leaped out of my chest in fear. I picked the old blood pump off the floor, put it back in my chest and said…
…What?
She yelled, “DRUMSTICKS!!?
I grabbed the phone and basically (in a funny way of course) raked her over the coals for digging through my texts to find out about my secret.
She had located a text conversation between my buddy and I that went like this:
Tim: I just ate two drumsticks (the ice cream cone chocolate heaven kind)
Troy: Well, I just ate two cake donuts from Caseys. Hopefully the two celery sticks I had earlier will balance it out.
Tim: Lol… I guarantee two drumsticks are way worse than two donuts. They are so bad for you. I hide them in the basement. It’s my only secret from Megan. How sad…
A guy has to have at least one secret right?
Come on!
And the truth is, I actually have one more.
And that’s the Layer Method of Piano.
A secret way to play piano without all the traditional stuff that keeps us (of a more mature age) from learning.
Maybe you should get yourself a secret.
Like starting piano lessons, then playing for somebody after you learn a few of your favorite songs?
Now that would be a great Jaw Dropping moment. The good kind (less fattening)
