Let’s do a little bit of Q&A today.
First question:
QUESTION: I’m not sure I’m ready to start playing the black keys. Can you tell me when it’s okay to start doing this?
TIM: I’m always baffled by this question.
Yet another example of the some teaching making things harder than they need to be.
Okay, so here’s the honest truth. There is no difference between the black keys and the white keys.
Yes they are a little smaller.
Yes they are a different color.
But they push down just the same. They aren’t harder to play. That’s in your head.
Next:
QUESTION: Will the Layer Method of Piano teach me to play incorrectly?
TIM: Yes.
Certain teachers would probably say you are learning wrong. Then they would offer to teach you for about 7 years at $30/ half hour.
And at the end of that you will come back to me and ask why you can’t play anything.
The Layer Method isn’t for everybody.
Only for those who want to play with both hands, songs they want, and not be bound or even have to read sheet music.
But we don’t follow all the “traditional” rules.
We break them.
And that is why you will finally be able to play.
Okay one more…
QUESTION: Will your program work for guitar players?
If you play guitar you should immediately buy my program.
You will be mad you didn’t do it earlier.
Playing guitar is easy, playing piano is easier.
You won’t believe it until you try it.
But it works like gangbusters for anybody with even a smidge of guitar experience.
Okay, last question.
