If you’re an adult (over the age of 16) and you want to play piano…
…then the following words from Katie will be very important to you.
Read what Katie has to say below:
“I had never played piano before I took this course. Oh yeah, I had a few lessons, but, throwing my money away without knowing how to play was frustrating. I have been playing using Tim’s method for over two years, and can tell you this. If YOU want to make the dream a reality, YOU are the one to make that happen. This is truth is it is time to stop spending money on lessons and start playing using the PianoFool Method.
Mature learners require the experiential approach to learning. I cannot play by sight at all…..However, the PianoFool method helped me to learn several pieces of music using just the CHORDS, MELODY and my ear. It is not magic, and you have to put in the effort daily or at least a few times a week.
I challenge you to start and stay with it for 2 weeks, practicing 15 minutes a day. Don’t rush ahead to the next video until you feel relatively comfortable with the initial one.
I was amazed and happy when I first realized that my hands were ok with the keys and the sound was the music I WAS PLAYING after two weeks. I was not perfect and I played the piece over and over until I was good with it and then I moved on to the next one.
Now, using his method I can download free chords for the music I want to play and again, I practice the same piece until I feel I have a musical flow with the piece. I just taught myself a Brian Adams song, “Heaven”.
One piece that I love to play (learned as a result of learning the PianoFool Method, but this piece is not part of it, I learned it on my own), is Rolling Stones, “Wild Horses”. My brother plays 12 string and told me to” back off on ‘rockin it out” because it is a ballad meant to be played a little more gently. My brother has played since childhood. We were in a music shop and there was a stage set up for a complete band. I stepped up on the stage without asking anyone for permission and just started playing, “Imagine” (John Lennon)
My brother was stunned, looked at the sales person and said, “Can you believe she taught herself, and OH just so you know, she is not buying the piano, she just sits down every time she see one and starts to play”. This illustrates my total passion and joy in actually playing the piano. No permission needed.
What I am saying is the honest truth about my experience with the Layer Method of learning piano. I am so thrilled that I can play using sharps, flats, major, minor chords and I DO NOT READ MUSIC. 🙂
It will happen for you!! Never give up…..but….give up the formal sight reading, and save your money for the PianoFool Method.- Katie”
Enough said.
